Stephanie M. Rutherford, PT, MPT, PRPC is a licensed physical therapist specializing in pelvic health at Advanced Women's Healthcare. She received her Master's degree in physical therapy from Northern Illinois University in 2010 and completed specialized training in pelvic floor physical therapy through Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehab Institute from 2010 to 2013. She received her Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC) which designates her as an expert in pelvic floor rehabilitation in 2020.
She is passionate about treating women of all ages and in all stages of life. She can assist in treating many different pelvic conditions such as incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, constipation, back pain, diastasis recti and sacroiliac pain. She has had additional training in Pilates and Pelvicore ™ exercise with a pelvic floor focus. As a working mom of four, she knows how precious time can be. She has a patient centered approach and can tailor a physical therapy program to fit your specific needs while allowing you to live your current active lifestyle. She also holds a special interest in treating pre-natal, pregnancy and post-partum related symptoms. Her experience in treating these symptoms has led her to develop an effective physical therapy program for women in their "fourth trimester" or post-partum period. This program focuses on self-care after child birth and prevention of pelvic floor issues long term.
In her free time, Stephanie enjoys all types of dancing, spending time outdoors/exercising with her husband and children, traveling and curling up with a good book.
